Since 1886, the Summit Area YMCA has continued to meet the changing needs of our growing community working side by side with our neighbors.

As one of the area’s leading charitable organizations, our cause is to strengthen the community by nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living for all, and fostering a sense of social responsibility.

We provide working families with quality, affordable childcare. We welcome and celebrate families and children with diverse abilities. We encourage mobility and avoid social isolation for our seniors. We promote healthy living and assistance for all in building a healthy spirit, mind, and body. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together.

​These capital improvements – a renovation of the Summit YMCA and a relocation and new construction of the Berkeley Heights YMCA – will result in improved functionality, improved member service, and improved programs at both branches.
